There are seven factions found in this title, the Lost Battalion Cadavers, Cosmic Cultists, Gaunt, Fanatics, Pillagers, Swine, and Plague Eaters. Each Faction is generally found in one Location Biome, except Cultists and Pillagers since Cultist Encounters and Road Fights can be randomly triggered at anytime during the journey throughout the maps.
Each enemy encounter will be a combination of enemies from one Faction type. Enemies in the game are encountered in Factions, and do not mix with each other. Swine is an Enemy Faction in Darkest Dungeon 2.
